Sony Ericsson K510 iSync Plugin

Tagged:

A Macncell.com reader sent me a home-brew iSync plugin for the Sony Ericsson K510.

UPDATE: I've had some folks write me saying that they have problems with this plugin, so I'd like to guide you over to Mobile.Feisar.com which has a list of newer Sony Ericsson phone iSync plugins.

Mary Hill was having couldn’t synchronize her phone with Mac. She searched the web, but couldn’t find software that would let her do it. So she took matters into her own hands, and made an iSync plugin herself! And she sent it to Macncell.com!

If you’ve got a Sony Ericsson K510, you’re using Mac OS X Tiger, your software is up-to-date, and you want it to sync with your Mac:

  • Download this plugin to your Desktop.

  • It’s a ZIP archive, and depending on your browser settings, after you download it, you should see either a file named “SEK510.phoneplugin.zip” or a folder named “SEK510.phoneplugin.” If it’s the ZIP file, just double click on it and you’ll end up with a folder named “SEK510.phoneplugin.”

  • Copy that folder to this folder: username/Library/PhonePlugins. If you don’t have that folder, create it (mind the capital ‘P’s, please).

Now you’ll need to pair the phone via bluetooth and run the iSync setup. iSync should now be able to find your K510!

Thanks again to Mary for creating this plugin for the Mac community!
