Mac OS X 10.4.9 to offer Updates to iSync
Recent reports of developer seeds indicate a number of updates, and potentially a few key ones for MacnCell readers.
Both AppleInsider and MacRumors write to let us know that along with updates to .Mac connectivity, Bluetooth, Bonjour, FireWire, Graphics, Adobe Flash, Automator, Dashboard Widgets, Fonts, iChat video conferencing, that iSync should be receiving significant updates. From AppleInsider:
Mac OS X 10.4.9 is also said to focus heavily on enhancements to various synching technologies, bundling fixes for Mac and syncing, Sync Services Engine, Sync Services and .Mac Sync, and rsync and extended attributes.
Let’s hope that those enhancements include to a number of currently unsupported phones, including the high end Sony Ericssons (P990i, M600, and W950), Linux driven Motorolas (KRZR, RIZR, and A1200 Ming), and all sorts of other mobile phones.
I’ll post more with updates on newly supported phones when 10.4.9 is released.

This is a fantastic site! just what I needed being new to cell phones, etc. well, not “new” actually, but I had been using a QCP860 for about 7 years. I now have a RAZR, which i sync to my Al Pb.

any ideas on when the new update will go live?
spring before 10.5 leopard?

i assume 10.4.9 will be sooner than later. since spring is the purported leopard release date, it’ll be before that, i would hope. i also read recently that a new test version of 10.4.9 had been seeded recently to developers. if there are isync upgrades, i would hope that those would include the new and popular motos.
Includes KRZR

I’ve installed the 10.4.9 (BP132) for PPC that was released this past week and iSync works perfectly, both Contacts & iCal. I previously used USB for Contacts only.
After DST

Did iCal synching still work correctly after the switch to DST on Mar 11? Everything I’ve read (including my own experiences) have iCal appointments jumping ahead by an hour on the phone (then creeping forward another hour with each sync). I’ve yet to see a fix for this. (Although, it does seem to be specific to Verizon phones. So, if you are running the native Motorola UI, you probably don’t have the problem.)
